PART 2 — The Day Chu Minh Realized He Had Destroyed Everything

The moment I finished speaking, I pressed the call button.

Not to ask for help.

Not to complain.

But to bring the truth to light.

The call connected quickly.

“Ms. Tham.”

A familiar voice came from the other side.

“Uncle Wang.”

I looked at Chu Minh.

At To Man.

At the doctors who were still hesitating.

Then I said calmly:

“Send the legal team to the maternity hospital.”

A pause.

“Also notify the medical supervision department.”

My voice became colder.

“I want a complete investigation into suspected illegal embryo manipulation and unauthorized medical authorization.”

The entire hallway froze.

Chu Minh’s expression changed immediately.

For the first time today…

he looked afraid.

“Tham Du.”

His voice lowered.

“Are you serious?”

I looked at him.

“Very.”

“You know what you are doing?”

I smiled.

“Unlike you, I know exactly what I am doing.”

To Man’s face turned pale.

“Sister-in-law, why are you doing this?”

I looked at her.

“Why?”

“Yes.”

Her tears started falling again.

“I only wanted to help.”

I stared at her.

“Help?”

I repeated the word.

“You used your own eggs.”

“You participated in my medical procedure.”

“You became the genetic mother of the embryo created from my husband’s sperm.”

“And you call that help?”

The hallway became silent.

Even those who had been whispering earlier stopped talking.

Because the truth was finally clear.

This was not a misunderstanding.

This was not jealousy.

This was not a wife being unreasonable.

This was a carefully planned betrayal.

Chu Minh suddenly stepped forward.

“Enough.”

His voice became cold again.

“You are making things too complicated.”

I looked at him.

“Too complicated?”

“Yes.”

“Man Man is a doctor.”

“She only wanted to increase the success rate.”

I laughed softly.

“Chu Minh.”

“Do you even know what IVF means?”

He frowned.

“I don’t need to listen to your professional explanation.”

Exactly.

That was always his problem.

He never listened.

The hospital security arrived first.

Then the legal team.

Then representatives from the medical supervision department.

When the investigators requested the documents, the head nurse’s face became increasingly nervous.

“Mr. Chu signed the authorization.”

The investigator looked up.

“Signed as what?”

The nurse hesitated.

“Patient representative.”

I interrupted.

“I never appointed him.”

The investigator turned to me.

“Do you have proof?”

I took out my phone.

“Everything was recorded.”

The recording played.

Chu Minh’s own voice filled the hallway.

“Man Man is my good brother. How about she help me share the pressure?”

“After all, it’s my breed.”

“Why are you unhappy?”

Every word.

Every sentence.

Clear.

Unavoidable.

Chu Minh’s face became completely white.

Because he finally understood.

The person he looked down on the most…

was the person who had prepared the strongest evidence.

To Man started shaking.

“No.”

“This is a misunderstanding.”

She looked at Chu Minh.

“A Minh, say something.”

But this time…

Chu Minh didn’t immediately protect her.

For the first time in three years…

he hesitated.

I looked at him.

“Why?”

He looked at me.

“What?”

“Why aren’t you standing in front of her now?”

Silence.

“You always protected her.”

“You always believed her.”

“You always made me apologize.”

A pause.

“So why are you silent?”

Chu Minh lowered his eyes.

Because he knew.

There was nothing left to defend.

The investigation lasted two months.

The results shocked everyone.

The hospital had violated multiple procedures.

The authorization documents were incomplete.

The embryo records had suspicious modifications.

To Man had used her medical position to interfere with the process.

And Chu Minh…

had knowingly participated.

During those two months, he came to find me many times.

The first time, he was angry.

“You destroyed everything.”

I looked at him.

“No.”

“You destroyed it yourself.”

The second time, he apologized.

“Tham Du, I was wrong.”

I nodded.

“Yes.”

He froze.

“You admit it?”

“Yes.”

A pause.

“You were wrong.”

“You just realized it too late.”

The third time, he cried.

The man who once stood in front of me protecting another woman…

was now standing outside my door asking me to forgive him.

“I love you.”

I looked at him.

“No.”

His face changed.

“No?”

“You loved the wife who endured everything.”

“You loved the woman who stayed silent.”

“You loved having someone who would sacrifice for you.”

I shook my head.

“But you never loved me enough to protect me.”

The divorce was completed six months later.

I kept my name.

My career.

My dignity.

Everything he thought he could take away.

As for the embryos…

I chose not to continue with them.

Not because I hated the child.

A child was innocent.

But because I refused to let my motherhood begin with deception.

One year later, I became the head of the legal department at my firm.

People who once mocked my “judgment” finally understood.

That judgment was the reason I survived.

The reason I uncovered the truth.

The reason I protected myself.

I met Chu Minh one final time at a business event.

He looked different.

Older.

Tired.

He watched me confidently walking among the guests.

Then he said:

“You really changed.”

I smiled.

“No.”

“I just stopped accepting things I should never have accepted.”

He lowered his head.

“Do you regret marrying me?”

I thought about it.

Then answered honestly:

“No.”

He looked surprised.

“Why?”

“Because without that marriage, I would never have learned my own worth.”

Chu Minh once believed he could use my body, my trust, and my love however he wanted.

He was wrong.

The moment he chose another woman over me…

was the moment I chose myself.

And the woman he thought was weak and emotional…

was the same woman who brought down everything he built.

Not with revenge.

Not with hatred.

Just with the truth.
