PART 2: THE MAN WHO LOST HIS FAMILY WITHOUT KNOWING IT

Julian sat in the empty hospital room for a long time.

The nurse had already left.

The machines were silent.

The bed where Laura had spent her last days was perfectly arranged, as if she had simply gone out for a walk and would return at any moment.

But she wouldn’t.

Because of him.

For the first time in his life, Julian Blackwood felt something he could not solve with money.

Regret.

He looked at his phone.

Hundreds of messages.

From investors.

From employees.

From the board of directors.

And one email from the court.

Divorce petition received.

Attached documents:

Marriage dissolution request.

Waiver of financial compensation.

No demands.

No accusations.

Nothing.

Only one sentence from Emma.

“I don’t want anything from the Blackwood family.”

Julian read it again.

And again.

His hand tightened around the phone.

Because for years he had believed that Emma stayed because of his money.

Because of his status.

Because she needed him.

But now she had left without asking for a single thing.

Not even revenge.

That afternoon, Julian returned to the Blackwood mansion.

He expected to find Emma there.

Waiting.

Angry.

Crying.

Anything.

But the house was silent.

The photos were gone.

Her clothes were gone.

The small things she always left around the house had disappeared.

The woman who once filled every corner of his life had vanished without making any noise.

On the dining table was a small envelope.

Inside was his wedding ring.

The one he had given her three years ago.

And a note.

“Julian.”

“I spent years proving that I was worthy of being your wife.”

“I forgot that the person who loves you shouldn’t have to beg to be treated like family.”

“Take care of yourself.”

“Emma.”

That was all.

No hatred.

No insults.

Just goodbye.

And somehow, that hurt more.

The next morning, Blackwood Industries exploded.

The stock market opened.

And within thirty minutes, the company’s shares began to fall.

Rumors spread everywhere.

A powerful CEO had intentionally delayed medical assistance for his wife’s family member.

The evidence was undeniable.

Payment records.

Messages.

Authorization documents.

The conversation between Olivia and the hospital.

Everything.

Julian’s face appeared on every business channel.

“Blackwood Industries CEO accused of abusing his power for personal revenge.”

The board immediately called an emergency meeting.

When Julian entered, everyone was silent.

His own directors looked at him differently.

Not with respect.

With disappointment.

One of them placed the documents on the table.

“Mr. Blackwood.”

“Did you authorize the suspension of medical payment?”

Julian didn’t answer.

Because there was no excuse.

The truth was already there.

Meanwhile, thousands of kilometers away…

Emma sat beside a hospital window.

She watched the sunrise over a foreign city.

Her hand rested on her empty stomach.

For months, she had imagined having Julian’s child.

She had imagined a small family.

A home.

A future.

But after losing Laura…

She realized something.

A child should not be born into a place where love was used as a weapon.

The doctor had asked gently:

“Are you sure?”

Emma had cried.

But she had nodded.

“Yes.”

Because sometimes letting go was the only way to save herself.

Three days later, Julian finally found out.

He was looking through the hospital records when he saw another document.

Pregnancy termination procedure.

Patient:

Emma Blackwood.

His face instantly changed.

“No…”

His voice trembled.

He grabbed the paper.

“No, this can’t be right.”

The doctor looked at him coldly.

“Mr. Blackwood.”

“You lost the right to know when you chose not to listen.”

Julian stood frozen.

The child he thought would always tie Emma to him…

Was gone.

The wife who always waited for him…

Was gone.

The sister-in-law who once treated him like family…

Was gone.

Everything disappeared because of choices he had made himself.

That night, Julian received one last message.

From an unknown number.

It was a photo.

Emma standing in front of a new apartment.

Healthy.

Calm.

Free.

Below it was one sentence:

“Don’t look for me.”

“You already lost me when I was still standing beside you.”

Julian stared at the screen.

For the first time, the powerful CEO who had never bowed to anyone…

Lowered his head.

Because he finally understood.

Emma didn’t leave because she stopped loving him.

She left because loving him had destroyed everything she had left.
