PART 2: ADRIAN BLAKE LOST EVERYTHING WHILE CELEBRATING HIS NEW LOVE

—What do you mean?

Adrian’s voice on the phone was no longer calm.

No longer arrogant.

For the first time in years, I heard panic.

I looked at the giant screen in front of me.

He was still standing under the lights of the amusement park.

Still holding Celia Hart’s hand.

Still surrounded by people who believed he was the winner of this story.

—Aurora, answer me.

—What did you do?

I smiled.

—Nothing.

A pause.

—Your company received the documents it deserved.

His breathing became heavier.

—What documents?

I didn’t respond immediately.

Because I wanted him to understand.

I wanted him to feel the same helplessness my father had felt when the Blake family begged for help.

—The repayment notices.

—The frozen accounts.

—The investigation documents.

Silence.

Then his voice changed.

—You can’t do this.

I almost laughed.

—Why not?

—Because Reed Group belongs to you?

—Because my father just died?

—Because you thought I was a woman who would always stay behind you?

Every word became colder.

—Adrian, you forgot something.

—My father saved your family.

—Not because he thought you were worthy.

—Because he believed I would be protected after marrying you.

The line remained silent.

I looked at the amusement park.

The same place where he had chosen to celebrate another woman’s happiness on the day I buried my father.

—But today I discovered something.

—My father protected the wrong person.

Adrian finally spoke.

—Aurora, listen to me.

—There is a misunderstanding.

A misunderstanding.

That word again.

Everyone who hurt others loved using it.

I lowered my eyes.

—Do you know what my father said before he died?

Adrian didn’t answer.

—He said collecting debts was also a form of farewell.

His breathing stopped.

Because he understood.

This wasn’t revenge.

It was a business decision.

The Reed family had given the Blake family everything.

And now I was simply taking back what was mine.

Suddenly, voices came from the amusement park entrance.

People were receiving notifications on their phones.

The reporter holding the microphone looked down.

His expression changed.

—Mr. Blake…

The cameras turned.

Adrian’s assistant rushed forward.

—President Blake, the banks have frozen several of our accounts.

—The board is demanding an emergency meeting.

—The investors are withdrawing.

Celia’s smile disappeared.

—What happened?

Adrian didn’t answer.

His eyes were fixed on me.

Even from a distance, I could see it.

Fear.

Real fear.

The same man who ignored my father’s funeral.

The same man who promised another woman a wedding while still wearing my husband’s name.

Now finally understood who I was.

Celia grabbed his arm.

—Adrian, what is happening?

He pushed her hand away unconsciously.

For the first time, she was no longer the only person in his eyes.

—Aurora…

I ended the call.

I didn’t want to hear excuses.

I didn’t want apologies.

Some wounds were not healed by regret.

They were healed by leaving.

I opened the car door.

The bodyguard immediately stepped forward.

—Miss Reed, should we leave?

I looked once more at the giant screen.

Adrian was standing alone now.

The cameras that once surrounded him were recording his downfall.

I smiled faintly.

—No.

—Let’s go inside.

The bodyguard was surprised.

—Inside?

I adjusted my coat.

—Yes.

—After all…

I looked at the castle lights.

—The owner of this amusement park has arrived.

When I walked through the entrance, every security guard immediately stepped aside.

The reporters turned.

The guests whispered.

And Adrian Blake, who had spent the entire night proving to the world how much he loved another woman…

finally saw the woman he abandoned walking toward him.

Not as his wife.

Not as the daughter of the man who saved him.

But as the person who could decide whether his empire survived tomorrow.

Celia’s face turned pale.

Because she finally understood.

She had never won.

She had only been celebrating inside a castle that was about to collapse.
