PART 2: THE CAMERA RECORDING REVEALED WHO SARAH WAS REALLY TRYING TO DESTROY.

Marcus stayed frozen on the floor.

The name echoed in his mind.

Julian.

The man Lily had just mentioned.

The man who appeared only when he was away.

The man who knew about Hannah’s beach house.

But the strangest part wasn’t that Sarah knew Julian.

It was that Lily knew.

A six-year-old child should not know the details of adult conversations.

Marcus gently held her shoulders.

“Lily, look at me.”

She slowly raised her eyes.

“Has Sarah ever told you not to tell daddy?”

The little girl nodded.

“She said daddy would be angry with me.”

Marcus felt his chest tighten.

“Did she ever make you drink the juice when you didn’t want to?”

Lily looked down.

“Sometimes.”

“Why didn’t you tell me before?”

Her voice became smaller.

“Because Sarah said you would think I was bad.”

That sentence almost broke him.

Because he knew Lily.

She was not a difficult child.

She was sensitive.

Kind.

The kind of child who apologized when someone else bumped into her.

And someone had been teaching her to doubt herself.

Marcus stood slowly.

His eyes moved toward the kitchen.

Sarah was still standing there.

Holding the glass.

Smiling.

A smile that suddenly looked completely different.

“What are you doing home already?”

Her voice sounded normal.

Too normal.

Marcus looked at the glass in her hand.

“What’s in that?”

Sarah blinked.

“What?”

“The juice.”

A small pause.

Only half a second.

But Marcus noticed.

“Why are you asking that?”

He walked closer.

Sarah immediately placed the glass on the counter.

“Lily is imagining things again.”

Those words made Marcus stop.

Not because he believed her.

Because of the way she said them.

Not concern.

Not confusion.

Annoyance.

“My daughter just told me something serious.”

Sarah sighed.

“Marcus, you know how children are.”

“They create stories.”

“They misunderstand.”

He stared at her.

“Then you won’t mind if I test it.”

Her expression changed.

“Test what?”

“The juice.”

Sarah became silent.

Marcus picked up the glass.

“I’ll send it to a lab.”

For the first time…

the confidence disappeared from her face.

“You don’t trust me?”

Marcus looked at her.

“Right now?”

“No.”

The answer shocked her.

Before she could respond, Marcus took out his phone.

The airport call could wait.

The business meeting could wait.

Nothing mattered more than Lily.

That afternoon, Marcus contacted a private investigator.

Not because he wanted revenge.

Because he needed proof.

Sarah was careful.

She had spent ten months building the image of the perfect stepmother.

She knew exactly what to say.

Exactly how to act.

A simple accusation would only make her stronger.

So Marcus did something she never expected.

He pretended to leave.

He called the airport.

Canceled the flight.

Then he drove to a hotel nearby and watched the house through the security system.

But there was one problem.

The original cameras inside the house had been disconnected months ago.

Sarah had said they made Lily uncomfortable.

Marcus believed her.

Now he regretted it.

Then he remembered something.

A backup camera.

A small device he had installed years ago after Hannah became sick.

It was hidden in the hallway.

He had forgotten about it.

Until now.

The investigator recovered the footage.

And after watching it…

Marcus couldn’t move.

The video showed Sarah giving Lily the juice.

Exactly as Lily described.

But that wasn’t the worst part.

After Lily drank it, Sarah took out her phone.

She recorded every movement.

Every emotional reaction.

Every moment Lily became restless.

Then Sarah sent the video to someone.

Julian.

The message appeared on the screen.

“Another episode.”

“We are getting closer.”

Marcus felt cold.

But then another message appeared.

And this one changed everything.

Julian replied:

“Good.”

“Once Marcus believes she is unstable, the custody situation will be easy.”

Marcus stared at the screen.

Custody.

That was the plan.

They weren’t trying to make him angry at Lily.

They were trying to make him doubt her.

They wanted records.

Videos.

Evidence.

A story that Lily was difficult.

Unstable.

A child who needed someone else to take care of her.

Marcus kept watching.

Then another file appeared.

A recording from a conversation between Sarah and Julian.

And the first sentence he heard made his blood run cold.

“The beach house is the key.”

Marcus stopped the video.

Because the beach house was not just any property.

It was Hannah’s.

The home she bought before they married.

The home she left for Lily.

A home Sarah had never been allowed to touch.

Marcus looked at the screen.

Suddenly everything made sense.

The juice.

The videos.

The lies.

The strange questions Sarah asked about Lily’s inheritance.

This was never about replacing him as a father.

It was about removing Lily from the only thing her mother left behind.

But Marcus still didn’t know the biggest secret.

Because the next recording revealed something Sarah had hidden since the beginning of their marriage.

And when Marcus heard Hannah’s name…

he realized Sarah’s plan had started long before Lily ever drank that first glass of juice.
