PART 2: THE FOUR CHILDREN THEY NEVER KNEW ABOUT

Two years.

That was how long it had been since I left the Lawson family mansion.

Two years since Richard Lawson placed a check worth two hundred million dollars in front of me and believed he had bought my silence.

Two years since Adrian Lawson sat beside another woman and watched me walk away.

During those two years, I never contacted him.

Not once.

I never asked if he regretted his decision.

I never checked the news about him and Vivian.

I never searched for his name.

Because the moment I walked out of that house, I made a promise to myself.

I would never return to a place where I had to beg to be valued.

My four children grew up knowing only love.

They knew the sound of my laughter.

They knew the warmth of my arms.

They knew that every morning, no matter how busy I was, I would prepare their breakfast myself.

They did not know they were born into one of the most powerful families in the country.

They only knew they had a mother who loved them.

And that was enough.

Until one morning, my assistant walked into my office with a newspaper in her hands.

“Miss Hart.”

I looked up.

Her expression was strange.

“What happened?”

She hesitated.

Then she placed the newspaper on my desk.

The headline immediately caught my attention.

“LAWSON GROUP ANNOUNCES PRESIDENT ADRIAN LAWSON’S UPCOMING MARRIAGE.”

Below it was a picture.

Adrian.

And Vivian.

She was wearing an expensive white dress.

Her hand rested on her stomach.

The article described her as the woman who gave the Lawson family three heirs.

Three heirs.

I stared at those words for a long time.

Not because they hurt.

But because they were almost funny.

They still believed that was the truth.

My assistant looked at me carefully.

“Do you want me to remove the article?”

I shook my head.

“No.”

“Why?”

I closed the newspaper.

“Because I want them to continue believing their story.”

She looked confused.

I smiled.

“People who are too confident make the biggest mistakes.”

A week later, I received an invitation.

Adrian and Vivian’s wedding.

A beautiful gold envelope.

A symbol of everything they thought they had won.

I almost threw it away.

Almost.

But then I remembered the envelope sitting inside my safe.

The one I had prepared two years ago.

Four photographs.

Four DNA tests.

Four children who had been erased from Adrian Lawson’s life.

And one final document.

The second DNA test.

The one that would destroy everything.

I decided to attend.

Not because I wanted Adrian back.

Not because I wanted revenge.

But because some truths deserved to be spoken in front of everyone.

The wedding was held at the Lawson family estate.

The same place where they had asked me to disappear.

The same place where they believed they had ended my story.

When I arrived, everyone turned to look.

Some recognized me.

Others whispered.

“Isn’t that Elena Hart?”

“She disappeared after the divorce.”

“I heard she took the money and left.”

I ignored them.

Because none of those people knew the truth.

I walked into the hall wearing a simple white suit.

Not a wedding dress.

Not something designed to compete.

I didn’t need to compete.

I had already won.

Adrian saw me before anyone else.

The moment our eyes met, he froze.

For two years, he had imagined many things.

He imagined me being lonely.

He imagined me regretting leaving.

He imagined that one day I would come back.

But he never imagined this.

A woman standing in front of him who no longer needed anything from him.

“Elena.”

His voice was barely a whisper.

I smiled politely.

“Congratulations.”

His expression became complicated.

“You came.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

I looked around the room.

“Because there was something you needed to receive.”

Before he could ask what I meant, the ceremony began.

Vivian walked down the aisle.

Everyone admired her.

Margaret Lawson was crying happily.

Richard looked proud.

The family they wanted was finally complete.

At least, that was what they thought.

After the vows were exchanged, Richard stood up to give a speech.

“To the future of the Lawson family.”

Everyone applauded.

Then I walked forward.

The room became quiet.

Richard frowned.

“Elena.”

I smiled.

“Mr. Lawson.”

“What are you doing?”

I held out a white envelope.

“I brought a wedding gift.”

Vivian’s expression changed.

She looked nervous.

Adrian stared at the envelope.

“Open it.”

Nobody moved.

Finally, Adrian took it.

His fingers trembled slightly.

Inside was the first photograph.

Four children.

Playing in a garden.

The next documents fell onto the table.

Four DNA tests.

His face changed immediately.

The room became silent.

Margaret stepped forward.

“What is this?”

Adrian looked at me.

His voice was shaking.

“Who are they?”

I stared at him.

“Your children.”

The entire room froze.

Vivian’s face turned pale.

“No.”

A whisper.

Almost impossible to hear.

“No, that’s impossible.”

I looked at her.

“Is it?”

She stepped backward.

Adrian picked up the documents.

His hands were shaking.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

I looked at him.

The same question.

The same man.

The same voice.

But two years too late.

“You never asked.”

His face collapsed.

“That’s not true.”

“Isn’t it?”

I looked directly into his eyes.

“The day your father offered me money, you chose silence.”

“The day Vivian told everyone she was carrying your heirs, you chose silence.”

“The day I left…”

I paused.

“You let me go.”

Adrian couldn’t speak.

Because he knew.

He had lost the right to ask why.

Then Richard suddenly grabbed the second document.

His expression changed.

“Wait.”

Everyone looked at him.

“What is this?”

I smiled slightly.

“The second DNA test.”

Adrian frowned.

“What second test?”

I looked at him.

“The one that proves something even more important.”

The room became completely silent.

Richard read the document.

Then his face turned white.

Margaret rushed over.

“What does it say?”

Richard couldn’t answer.

Because the truth on that paper was worse than anyone expected.

I looked at Adrian.

“Your family spent two years celebrating three heirs.”

A pause.

“But they never realized the woman they threw away was the only person who knew the truth.”

Adrian stared at me.

“What truth?”

I took a deep breath.

“The three children Vivian claimed were yours…”

I looked at the DNA report in Richard’s hand.

“Are not your children.”

The room exploded into chaos.

And for the first time in two years…

Adrian Lawson finally understood.

He didn’t lose me because I left.

He lost me because he chose to believe everyone except the woman who had given him everything.

And now, the entire Lawson family was about to discover the price of that choice.
