PART 2: THE HEART THAT EXPOSED HIS BIGGEST LIE

The operating room remained frozen after the recording ended.

Nobody spoke.

Nobody moved.

Julian Grant stood there staring at the tablet screen, watching the last image of Olivia disappear.

For the first time in years, he looked like a man who had lost control.

Not because his wife had almost died.

Not because he had nearly caused a tragedy.

But because he finally understood that Olivia had prepared for the possibility that he would betray her.

Dr. Evans slowly removed his mask.

“Mr. Grant,” he said quietly, “you need to step away from this operating room.”

Julian looked at him.

“You don’t understand what you’re doing.”

Rachel Reed gave a cold smile.

“No, Julian. You are the one who doesn’t understand.”

She walked closer, holding the legal documents firmly in her hand.

“You spent years believing Olivia was just the woman who loved you enough to give you everything.”

Her eyes moved toward Olivia’s unconscious body.

“You forgot that she was also Thomas Reed’s daughter.”

The name alone changed the atmosphere.

Everyone in that room knew what Thomas Reed represented.

A billionaire who built an empire from nothing.

A man known for his strict contracts, careful planning, and ability to predict betrayal before it happened.

Julian had always admired him.

Until he became the person Thomas Reed had warned Olivia about.

Rachel opened the folder.

“Before Thomas died, he created a protection system for Olivia. Not because he expected her enemies to attack her.”

She looked directly at Julian.

“But because he knew someone close to her might try to use her trust against her.”

Julian’s face became pale.

“That’s impossible.”

Rachel placed another document on the table.

“It is very possible.”

The lawyer beside her spoke.

“Mr. Grant, according to the Reed Family Trust agreement, any attempt to manipulate Miss Olivia Reed’s medical decisions for financial gain will immediately trigger a complete transfer review of all assets connected to her name.”

Julian clenched his fists.

“You’re accusing me?”

“No,” Rachel replied.

“We are documenting what you already did.”

The words hit harder than any accusation.

Julian looked toward Isabella.

For a moment, he seemed to search for the same comfort he had always found in her.

But Isabella was no longer smiling.

She looked terrified.

“Julian…”

Her voice trembled.

“Did you really do all this because of the contract?”

He immediately turned.

“No. Isabella, don’t listen to them.”

But she continued staring at him.

“You were willing to take Olivia’s heart.”

The room became silent again.

Julian’s expression changed.

“It was complicated.”

Rachel laughed softly.

“Complicated?”

She pointed toward Olivia.

“A woman who gave you her family’s trust, her company connections, and years of her life is lying there without a heart because you decided someone else mattered more.”

Julian stepped forward.

“You have no idea what happened between us.”

Rachel’s eyes narrowed.

“Actually, I know more than you think.”

She handed another file to the police officer.

Inside were medical records, financial transfers, and communication logs.

Julian froze.

“What is that?”

“The truth.”

Rachel looked at him.

“Isabella Monroe was never the reason your company survived.”

Julian’s breathing changed.

“What are you talking about?”

The lawyer opened the file.

“Five years ago, when Grant Holdings was close to bankruptcy, the emergency investment that saved the company came through a private foundation.”

Julian stared.

“That foundation…”

Rachel nodded.

“Yes.”

“The Reed Foundation.”

The color disappeared from Julian’s face.

Olivia’s father had saved his company.

Not Isabella.

Not anyone else.

Thomas Reed had quietly invested billions because Olivia loved Julian and believed he was a good man.

Julian had spent years telling people that Isabella was the woman who stood beside him when he had nothing.

But the truth was completely different.

Olivia had been the person standing in the shadows.

The person who sacrificed without asking for recognition.

The person he abandoned the moment he believed he had enough power.

Dr. Evans looked at Olivia’s monitors.

“Her condition is unstable.”

Everyone turned.

The machine continued beeping.

“She needs immediate intervention,” the doctor said.

Rachel stepped closer.

“Can you save her?”

Dr. Evans hesitated.

“There is a possibility.”

Julian suddenly looked up.

A possibility.

Those words were enough.

“Then save her.”

Everyone looked at him.

The same man who had demanded Olivia be removed from the table was now asking them to save her.

Rachel’s expression did not change.

“You don’t get to pretend you care now.”

Julian swallowed.

“I made a mistake.”

“No,” Rachel answered.

“You made a choice.”

The sentence left him silent.

Because she was right.

A mistake happened accidentally.

But Julian had looked at Olivia’s dying body.

He had heard the machines.

He had heard the doctors.

And he had still chosen Isabella.

At that moment, the operating room doors opened again.

A young man in a dark suit entered, carrying another envelope.

“Rachel.”

Everyone turned.

Rachel recognized him immediately.

“Daniel?”

Daniel Reed was Olivia’s cousin and one of the few people Thomas Reed trusted completely.

He walked toward the table.

“I found the final document.”

Rachel frowned.

“Final document?”

Daniel nodded.

“Thomas left one more instruction. It was sealed and only to be opened if Olivia’s life was threatened by someone connected to her marriage.”

Julian’s eyes widened.

“What does it say?”

Daniel looked at him.

Then slowly opened the envelope.

The first line was enough to make Julian’s face change.

Because it contained his name.

Daniel read aloud:

“If Julian Grant ever chooses personal ambition over Olivia’s life, he is no longer considered a member of the Reed family’s trust network, and all agreements connected to him must be immediately terminated.”

Julian stepped back.

“No…”

Daniel continued.

“And the hundred billion contract he attempted to secure will become invalid due to fraudulent authorization.”

For the first time that night, Julian understood.

The contract was never his greatest achievement.

It was the trap.

A trap designed to reveal who he truly was.

The doctors began preparing Olivia for emergency treatment.

Rachel stood beside her niece.

Holding her hand.

“Stay with us, Olivia.”

Deep inside the darkness surrounding her, Olivia heard a distant voice.

A voice she knew.

Her father’s voice.

“You trusted the wrong person.”

A tear slipped from the corner of her eye.

But she heard something else too.

Another voice.

Julian’s voice.

For the first time, it wasn’t angry.

It wasn’t arrogant.

It was broken.

“Olivia… please come back.”

The woman who had lost everything because of him was fighting for her life.

And the man who had destroyed her world was finally afraid of losing her.

But nobody in that room knew the biggest secret yet.

Because before Olivia entered the operating room, she had hidden one final recording.

A recording that was not meant to expose Julian.

It was meant to reveal the truth about Isabella Monroe.

And when it was played, everyone would discover that Isabella’s story had been a lie from the beginning.
