PART 2: THE LAST GIFT

Tran Huc stared at the screen.

For several seconds, he didn’t dare press the button.

The noise around him disappeared.

The congratulations.

The laughter.

The voices calling the child the future heir of the Tran family.

Everything became distant.

Only that message remained.

DNA assessment report completed.

His fingers trembled slightly.

A person like Tran Huc was rarely afraid.

He had built a company from nothing.

He had negotiated with investors who were ten times more powerful than him.

He had faced countless crises without changing his expression.

But at that moment…

A strange fear slowly crawled up his spine.

Because he suddenly remembered Wen Qing’s eyes before she left.

Not anger.

Not sadness.

Nothing.

Only calm.

The calm of someone who had already given up.

He clicked the link.

The page loaded slowly.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

Then the report appeared.

At the top was a line:

Relationship probability: 0.01%.

Tran Huc stopped breathing.

His eyes moved down.

Conclusion: The tested male sample is not the biological father of the child.

The phone almost slipped from his hand.

“No…”

The word escaped from his mouth.

So quietly that nobody around him noticed.

His mother-in-law, Trieu Lan, was still smiling.

She held the baby carefully.

—Look at him. He has the Tran family’s eyes.

The sentence stabbed directly into his chest.

The Tran family.

The heir.

The son he had waited for.

The child he had sacrificed his marriage for.

Wasn’t his.

A cold sweat appeared on his forehead.

His first reaction was not anger.

It was disbelief.

Impossible.

Absolutely impossible.

Luu Yen had been protected by him every day.

She lived in the villa.

She rarely went outside.

Everyone knew she was carrying his child.

How could this happen?

Then a thought suddenly appeared.

Wen Qing.

The paper.

The sentence she left behind.

That baby… you’d better check it carefully.

She already knew.

She knew everything before him.

She had already prepared the answer.

And she still left quietly.

She didn’t expose Luu Yen in front of everyone.

She didn’t create a scandal.

She didn’t destroy him publicly.

She simply walked away.

And left him the truth.

The truth he was too arrogant to see.

“Mr. Tran?”

The voice beside him brought him back.

He looked up.

It was the hospital director.

—Are you alright?

Tran Huc quickly locked the phone.

His face was pale.

—I’m fine.

But his hands were shaking.

For the first time in five years…

He felt powerless.

Meanwhile, thousands of kilometers away.

Wen Qing sat beside the window of her apartment in Zurich.

The snow outside covered the entire city.

She held a cup of warm tea.

Her phone showed several missed calls.

All from one person.

Tran Huc.

She looked at the screen for a long time.

Then she turned it off.

She didn’t hate him.

That surprised even herself.

Five years ago, she loved him more than anything.

She believed they would grow old together.

When Huc Nhat Technology was only a small office with three employees, she stayed beside him.

When investors refused to cooperate, she helped him rewrite proposals all night.

When he failed, she encouraged him.

When he succeeded, she stood behind him quietly.

But the moment another woman appeared…

He forgot who had been there before the success.

He forgot who helped build everything.

He forgot that the woman he abandoned was the reason he had something to lose.

Wen Qing touched the glass window.

The reflection looking back at her was different.

No tears.

No pain.

Only freedom.

Her assistant entered with a tablet.

—Miss Wen.

—The acquisition documents have been completed.

—The shares of Huc Nhat Technology have been transferred according to your instructions.

Wen Qing nodded.

—Good.

The assistant hesitated.

—Are you sure you don’t want to keep any shares?

Wen Qing smiled faintly.

—No.

—That company was built with two people’s dreams.

—But now that dream belongs to the man who destroyed it.

She looked at the snow outside.

—I’m not interested in keeping anything connected to him.

The assistant lowered his head.

Then another message arrived.

The assistant glanced at the screen.

His expression changed.

—Miss Wen…

She looked over.

—What happened?

The assistant swallowed.

—Mr. Tran has discovered the DNA result.

Wen Qing didn’t react.

—And?

—He has been calling you for almost an hour.

Silence.

Then she asked calmly:

—Did he say why?

The assistant looked uncomfortable.

—He said he needs to see you.

Wen Qing lowered her eyes.

Five years ago, if Tran Huc said those words…

She would have abandoned everything and run back.

But now…

She only replied:

—Tell him I’m busy.

The assistant hesitated.

—Miss Wen, he sounds desperate.

Wen Qing smiled slightly.

—Desperate?

She repeated the word.

Then she looked at the divorce agreement lying on the table.

—When I was standing outside that hospital five years ago, begging him to remember our marriage…

—Was he desperate for me?

The assistant became silent.

Wen Qing closed the folder.

—No.

—So he can experience what it feels like to wait for someone who will never come back.

At the hospital, Tran Huc finally lost control.

He walked directly to Luu Yen’s room.

She was resting on the bed.

When she saw his expression, her smile disappeared.

—Huc?

He closed the door behind him.

The room became silent.

For a long time, neither spoke.

Then Tran Huc placed the DNA report on the table.

Luu Yen looked down.

Her face instantly lost color.

That reaction was enough.

Tran Huc understood.

He didn’t need another answer.

His voice was almost a whisper.

—Why?

Luu Yen’s eyes filled with tears.

—Huc…

—Why?

This time his voice became louder.

The woman who had replaced his wife.

The woman he protected.

The woman he chose.

Was now the person who destroyed everything.

Luu Yen covered her face.

—Because I loved you.

Tran Huc laughed.

A painful laugh.

—You loved me?

He pointed at the report.

—Then what was this?

Before Luu Yen could answer…

His phone vibrated.

A new message.

From Wen Qing.

Only one sentence.

“Tran Huc, the DNA report was not my revenge.”

“It was my final kindness.”

He stared at the message.

Then another line appeared.

“Because if I didn’t let you know the truth…”

“You would spend the rest of your life protecting a lie.”

Tran Huc held the phone tightly.

And for the first time…

He realized something more painful than losing his company.

More painful than losing his reputation.

He had spent five years trying to prove that Wen Qing was replaceable.

But the truth was…

The moment she left…

Everything he had built started collapsing.
