PART 2: THE MAN WHO ENTERED QUINN TERRITORY

Adrian Shaw arrived at Quinn Global at exactly nine in the morning.

He wore the same expensive suit he always used when he wanted people to believe he was in control.

But this time, nobody opened the door for him.

Nobody smiled.

Nobody called him “Mr. Shaw” with respect.

Because for the first time, Adrian was standing in a world where his name meant nothing.

The receptionist looked at her computer.

—Do you have an appointment?

Adrian frowned.

—I’m here to see Victoria Quinn.

The receptionist remained calm.

—Miss Quinn is currently in a meeting.

—Tell her her husband is waiting.

A small silence followed.

Then the receptionist looked up.

—Mr. Shaw, according to our records, Miss Quinn does not have a husband registered under that name.

The sentence hit him harder than expected.

Because that was the first time someone said it out loud.

Victoria Quinn.

Not Victoria Shaw.

He clenched his jaw.

—Call her.

—I already informed her that you are here.

—And?

The receptionist hesitated.

—She said she would see you when she had time.

For a man like Adrian, those words were almost an insult.

When she had time.

Not when he demanded.

Not when he ordered.

When she decided.

Thirty minutes later, the elevator doors opened.

Victoria walked out.

Black suit.

Hair perfectly tied.

No trace of the woman who had cried in front of him the night before.

No trace of the wife who used to wait for him.

Adrian looked at her and froze.

Because suddenly he realized something terrifying.

He had never actually known his wife.

—Victoria.

She stopped a few steps away.

—Mr. Shaw.

That title hurt more than he expected.

—Are we really going to pretend we’re strangers?

She looked at him calmly.

—You did that first.

His expression changed.

—About last night…

—Don’t.

Her voice was quiet.

But it carried more power than any scream.

—You don’t get to apologize because you are afraid of losing control.

Adrian swallowed.

—I’m Lily’s father.

—Yes.

Victoria nodded.

—And that’s the only reason we are having this conversation.

He immediately took advantage of the opening.

—Then send her back with me.

For a second, Victoria looked disappointed.

Not angry.

Disappointed.

—You still don’t understand.

—Understand what?

She stepped closer.

—That Lily is not a possession.

Silence.

—She is a child who watched her father choose another woman over her mother.

Adrian’s face tightened.

—That’s unfair.

—Is it?

Victoria opened her tablet.

A video appeared.

The restaurant.

The moment his hand hit her.

The room became silent.

Adrian stopped breathing.

—Where did you get that?

—The restaurant security system.

She looked at him.

—You never asked if there were cameras.

His face went pale.

Because suddenly he understood.

The woman he thought was powerless had been collecting evidence from the beginning.

—Victoria…

—The divorce lawyer will contact you today.

—You’re serious?

—Completely.

He stared at her.

—After everything we’ve been through?

A faint smile appeared on her face.

—After everything I survived.

That afternoon, Adrian met Vanessa at a private restaurant.

She arrived wearing confidence.

A smile.

Perfect makeup.

The same woman who believed she had already won.

—How did it go?

Adrian didn’t answer.

Vanessa’s smile disappeared.

—Adrian?

—Why didn’t you tell me who she really was?

The question made her freeze.

—What are you talking about?

He threw a newspaper onto the table.

The headline was already spreading:

“Victoria Quinn Returns to Lead Quinn Global.”

Vanessa read the article.

Her expression changed.

—Quinn Global…

Adrian laughed bitterly.

—Yes.

—My wife is Victoria Quinn.

The daughter of the founder.

The woman whose family owns half the companies you wanted to defeat.

Vanessa became pale.

—But you said she was just…

—A designer.

He interrupted.

—A normal woman.

He looked away.

—That’s what she wanted me to believe.

Vanessa’s fingers tightened around the newspaper.

Then she whispered:

—So what happens now?

Adrian didn’t answer.

Because for the first time, he didn’t know.

The next morning, Quinn Global’s board meeting began.

Victoria sat at the head of the table.

Henry placed a file in front of her.

—The evidence is complete.

She opened it.

Financial transfers.

Private messages.

Corporate connections.

Everything connected Adrian, Vanessa and Langford Group.

Henry looked serious.

—If we release this publicly, Langford Group will lose their acquisition opportunity.

Victoria closed the folder.

—Not yet.

Henry looked surprised.

—Not yet?

She looked through the glass window at London.

—No.

—They still think they are fighting a woman they can control.

A small smile appeared.

—Let them continue believing that.

At that moment, her assistant entered.

—Miss Quinn.

—Yes?

—Adrian Shaw is requesting another meeting.

Victoria didn’t even look surprised.

—What does he want?

The assistant hesitated.

—He says he wants to talk about saving your marriage.

Victoria slowly stood up.

For three years, she had waited for Adrian to choose her.

Now he was finally coming back.

But not because he loved her.

Because he had discovered who she was.

She picked up her jacket.

—Fine.

—I’ll meet him.

Henry frowned.

—Are you sure?

Victoria smiled.

—Yes.

Because I want him to hear something clearly.

She walked toward the door.

—The woman he slapped yesterday…

is not the same woman standing in front of him today.

And Adrian Shaw was about to discover the most painful truth of all:

He had spent three years trying to make Victoria feel worthless…

only to find out that losing her was the biggest mistake of his life.
