PART 2: THE TRUTH MICHAEL DISCOVERED BEFORE THE WEDDING.

Michael thought he understood Olivia.

For years, he had believed she was simply demanding.

A little impatient.

A little too focused on appearances.

But after watching what happened inside that kitchen, he started seeing the things he had ignored for far too long.

The wine on the floor was not an accident.

The way Sophie lowered her eyes was not respect.

It was fear.

And once Michael noticed it, he couldn’t stop noticing everything.

Three days later, he came home earlier than expected.

As he entered the house, he heard voices coming from the laundry room.

Olivia’s voice.

“You still haven’t learned, have you?”

Michael stopped.

Through the slightly open door, he saw Sophie standing beside a basket of folded clothes.

“I followed the instructions exactly, ma’am.”

Olivia picked up one shirt and threw it onto the table.

“No, you followed what you wanted to hear.”

Sophie quietly picked up the shirt.

“I’m sorry.”

Michael felt his jaw tighten.

Not because Olivia was correcting her.

Because Sophie wasn’t even surprised.

She had accepted being blamed before she was even accused.

Then Olivia stepped closer.

“You should remember your position here.”

The words made Michael’s stomach turn.

Sophie froze.

“My position?”

Olivia smiled.

“People like you should be grateful to even work in a house like this.”

Michael had heard enough.

He stepped into the room.

“People like her?”

Both women turned.

Olivia’s expression changed instantly.

The coldness disappeared.

A perfect smile replaced it.

“Oh, Michael. I didn’t hear you come in.”

Of course she didn’t.

She never wanted him to hear.

Sophie immediately lowered her head.

“I’ll finish the laundry.”

“No,” Michael said.

She stopped.

“You’re done for today.”

Olivia looked confused.

“Michael, what are you doing?”

He looked directly at his fiancée.

“The question is what are you doing?”

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Then Olivia laughed softly.

“You’re overreacting.”

“Am I?”

Michael looked at Sophie.

“How long has this been happening?”

Sophie became silent.

That silence told him everything.

“Tell me.”

Sophie glanced at Olivia.

And Michael saw it.

She was afraid of answering.

That was the moment he realized this wasn’t just about one employee being treated badly.

This was about power.

About someone who believed they could hurt others without consequences.

“Almost eight months,” Sophie finally whispered.

Michael felt something inside him break.

Eight months.

The entire time he had been planning his future with Olivia.

The entire time he had been telling people how lucky he was.

Someone in his own home had been quietly suffering.

That night, Michael didn’t sleep.

He sat in his office and started reviewing things he had never bothered to question.

The household reports.

The employee records.

The complaints.

And then he found something strange.

A pattern.

Every person Olivia had disliked eventually disappeared from the estate.

A gardener.

A driver.

A housekeeper.

A personal assistant.

And every time, there was always the same explanation.

“They were unreliable.”

“They made mistakes.”

“They couldn’t handle the expectations.”

But when Michael checked the records, he found something disturbing.

Most of them had excellent recommendations before working for Olivia.

Someone had been destroying their reputations.

Someone had been creating a story.

The same story she was now creating about Sophie.

The next morning, Michael met with the estate manager privately.

“I need every complaint filed against Sophie.”

The manager hesitated.

“Mr. Michael…”

“Every single one.”

A few minutes later, a folder was placed on his desk.

Michael opened it.

His expression slowly changed.

Because inside were dozens of complaints.

But when he checked the dates, something didn’t make sense.

Many of them were filed at times when Sophie wasn’t even working.

Some were written on days she had taken approved leave.

Someone had fabricated everything.

And then he found the final document.

A termination recommendation.

Already prepared.

The date was scheduled for two weeks after the wedding.

Michael stared at the paper.

Olivia wasn’t planning to fire Sophie because of mistakes.

She was planning to remove her after the wedding, when Michael would already be married and less likely to question it.

But there was one more thing that bothered him.

Why was Olivia so desperate to remove Sophie?

Then he remembered something.

A few weeks earlier, Sophie had accidentally walked into the room while Olivia was arguing with someone on the phone.

At the time, Michael hadn’t thought much about it.

But now he remembered Sophie’s expression afterward.

Fear.

Michael searched through the security footage.

Hours later, he found the recording.

It was from the day Olivia spilled the wine.

The camera captured something he hadn’t seen before.

After Sophie cleaned the floor, Olivia waited until she left.

Then she made a phone call.

Michael turned up the volume.

And Olivia’s voice came through clearly.

“Don’t worry. After the wedding, she won’t be here anymore.”

A man’s voice responded.

“Are you sure Michael won’t interfere?”

Olivia smiled.

“Michael only sees what I let him see.”

Michael froze.

The voice on the phone was familiar.

Very familiar.

Because it belonged to someone he trusted.

Someone in his own family.

He replayed the recording three times.

Then he noticed the date.

The conversation happened one day after Olivia met with his father, Robert.

Michael leaned back in his chair.

His entire world suddenly felt different.

The woman he was supposed to marry was not just cruel.

She was hiding something.

And she wasn’t working alone.

That evening, Michael decided not to confront Olivia.

Not yet.

Instead, he acted exactly as he always had.

He smiled.

He talked about wedding plans.

He pretended everything was normal.

But secretly, he started collecting evidence.

Because he wanted the truth.

All of it.

The night before the wedding rehearsal, Michael finally discovered the file that changed everything.

It was hidden inside Olivia’s personal cloud account.

A folder with his name on it.

Inside were documents.

Messages.

And photographs.

Michael opened the first file.

And his hands started shaking.

Because the plan wasn’t just about Sophie.

It wasn’t even just about controlling the household.

The wedding itself…

Was part of something much bigger.

And Olivia had been preparing for months.

The final document was titled:

“After Marriage Agreement.”

Michael opened it.

The first sentence made his heart go cold.

“If Michael signs, control of the family assets will immediately transfer…”

He stopped reading.

Because suddenly he understood.

Olivia wasn’t marrying him because she loved him.

She was marrying him because she wanted something.

And she had been hiding her true intentions until the moment he became legally trapped.

But what Olivia didn’t know…

Was that Michael had already seen everything.

And on their wedding day…

She was going to discover that the man she thought she could control had been watching all along.
