Part 2: The Medical Record That Exposed Ethan’s Real Plan

The entire yard went silent after my words.

“No medical document related to me can be signed by my husband.”

Ethan looked at me as if I had suddenly become a stranger.

“Sophia, what are you talking about?”

I looked at him calmly.

“Exactly what I said.”

In my previous life, I had trusted him completely.

That trust had cost me everything.

This time, I would not allow a single signature to decide my fate.

Director Miller took out a notebook.

“Mrs. Ethan, you are requesting independent medical authorization?”

I nodded.

“Yes.”

Bianca immediately stepped forward.

“She is just angry. Ethan is her husband. Why would she not trust him?”

I turned to her.

“Because some people use trust as a weapon.”

Her expression changed for a second.

Then she smiled.

“You are making accusations without proof.”

I smiled back.

“You’re right.”

“Which is why I will collect the proof.”

Ethan’s face became colder.

“Enough, Sophia.”

That tone.

That same tone from my previous life.

The tone he used when he wanted me to stop asking questions.

But this time, I didn’t lower my head.

“Ethan, do you remember the hospital?”

His expression froze.

Only for a moment.

But I saw it.

A guilty person always reacts before they think.

“What hospital?”

“The military hospital.”

The neighbors looked at each other.

Bianca’s hand moved protectively over her stomach.

I continued.

“The one where you claimed someone forced you to sign documents.”

Ethan’s face changed.

“Sophia, don’t bring up things from years ago.”

Years ago.

Those three words confirmed everything.

Because he remembered.

He remembered exactly.

Director Miller looked at him.

“Captain Ethan, what documents is she referring to?”

He didn’t answer.

Bianca quickly interrupted.

“She is unstable because of pregnancy.”

I almost laughed.

That was exactly what they had done before.

Make me look emotional.

Make people doubt me.

Make everyone believe I was the problem.

But this time, I had prepared.

I reached into the red box.

Not the marriage certificate.

Something else.

A copy of my medical records.

“I requested my complete medical file.”

Ethan’s eyes widened.

“Why?”

“Because I wanted to know what happened to me in my previous life.”

I stopped myself.

The words almost escaped.

Instead, I said:

“Because I wanted to know what happened to my body.”

I handed the documents to Director Miller.

She read carefully.

Then her expression became serious.

“There is something wrong here.”

Everyone became silent.

“What?” Ethan asked.

She looked at him.

“This consent form contains a signature authorization from the husband.”

Ethan immediately stepped forward.

“That’s normal.”

“No.”

Director Miller shook her head.

“Not when the patient specifically refused the procedure.”

My fingers tightened.

Because there it was.

The truth.

The thing that killed my child.

The thing that destroyed my future.

Ethan looked nervous.

“That must be a mistake.”

A mistake.

That was his favorite word.

But mistakes did not happen repeatedly.

Director Miller continued.

“The hospital records show the consent was processed under urgent circumstances.”

She looked at me.

“But there is no evidence of emergency approval.”

Bianca’s face became pale.

For the first time, she looked afraid.

I looked at Ethan.

“You told me they tricked you.”

He swallowed.

“I was trying to protect you.”

“No.”

My voice was quiet.

“You were protecting yourself.”

The crowd started whispering.

Ethan grabbed my arm.

“Sophia, stop this.”

I pulled away.

The movement was small.

But everyone saw it.

The man who wanted everyone to believe he was protecting his wife was now trying to silence her.

Then my phone rang.

I looked at the screen.

It was from the military hospital.

I answered.

“Hello?”

A woman’s voice spoke.

“Mrs. Ethan?”

“Yes.”

“We reviewed the old medical records you requested.”

My heart stopped.

“There is additional information.”

I looked at Ethan.

“What information?”

The woman paused.

Then said:

“The doctor who approved the procedure was not acting alone.”

The air around me became cold.

“Who else was involved?”

Another pause.

Then:

“The authorization trail shows communication between the doctor and a person outside the hospital.”

My eyes moved toward Bianca.

Then Ethan.

“Who?”

The woman lowered her voice.

“Captain Ethan contacted the hospital three days before your admission.”

Silence.

The entire world seemed to stop.

Ethan’s face lost all color.

“That’s impossible.”

I stared at him.

“No.”

I whispered.

“That is exactly what happened.”

Because in my previous life, I died believing Ethan had been deceived.

But now I finally understood.

He was never a victim.

He was part of the plan.

Then the hospital employee added one final sentence:

“Mrs. Ethan, there is also a second file.”

“What file?”

“The original birth registration document.”

My heart tightened.

“Whose?”

The woman answered:

“The child Bianca claimed was Ethan’s.”

I looked at Bianca.

Her expression changed instantly.

And I knew.

The secret they had protected for years…

Was about to destroy both of them.
