I arrived at the Zhou family village early in the morning.
The road had not changed.
The old trees.
The narrow streets.
The familiar houses where I had once come as Martin’s future wife.
Three years ago, when I entered this village, everyone welcomed me.
They called me the woman who would continue the Zhou family line.
They told me Martin was lucky to have found such a good wife.
Nobody knew that behind those smiles, I was slowly becoming a stranger in my own marriage.
This time, I did not come as Mrs. Zhou.
I came as Sofía Lin.
A woman who had already lost everything she thought she had.
And a woman who had nothing left to fear.
The wedding banquet was held in the largest courtyard of the Zhou family home.
Red decorations covered every corner.
Relatives gathered around tables, laughing and drinking.
When Martin saw me walk in, the smile on his face disappeared.
For a few seconds, he simply stared.
Then Luna turned around.
Her expression changed instantly.
But unlike Martin, she recovered quickly.
She walked toward me with a gentle smile.
“Sofía…”
Her voice was soft.
Almost innocent.
“I didn’t expect you to come.”
I looked at her white wedding dress.
The same woman who had cried in my arms saying she would never become a mother.
The same woman who had told me she envied my life.
Now she stood beside my ex-husband, carrying the child everyone believed was a miracle.
“I came because I wanted to congratulate you,” I said.
Martin’s eyes narrowed.
He clearly didn’t believe me.
Because he knew me.
He knew I was not someone who appeared without a reason.
His mother approached.
The moment she saw me, her face became cold.
“Sofía, why are you here?”
I smiled.
“Your son invited me.”
Martin immediately interrupted.
“I didn’t.”
I looked at him.
“Then maybe you forgot.”
The same way he forgot everything about me.
His expression became uncomfortable.
Before he could answer, his father stood up.
“Since everyone is here, let’s celebrate properly.”
He raised his glass.
“To the Zhou family.”
“To the new baby.”
“To our future grandson.”
Everyone applauded.
Luna lowered her head shyly.
Martin placed his hand on her shoulder.
That scene would have destroyed me months ago.
But now…
It only looked like a carefully prepared performance.
After dinner began, relatives surrounded Luna.
Everyone asked about the baby.
“How many months?”
“When is the due date?”
“Was it difficult to get pregnant?”
Luna touched her stomach.
A proud smile appeared.
“The doctors said it was a miracle.”
I almost laughed.
A miracle.
That was the word everyone loved.
Because people preferred miracles over the truth.
Then Martin’s younger sister, Mei, suddenly spoke.
“Wait.”
Everyone looked at her.
She frowned while looking at Luna.
“Something doesn’t make sense.”
The courtyard became quiet.
Martin looked annoyed.
“Mei, today is my wedding. Don’t ruin the atmosphere.”
But she didn’t stop.
“I remember something.”
She looked at Luna.
“Three months ago, Sofía took you to the hospital.”
Luna’s fingers tightened.
“You cried all day.”
Mei continued.
“The doctor said your condition was serious.”
Martin’s face changed.
“What are you talking about?”
Mei looked confused.
“She told me Luna might never have children.”
The entire courtyard went silent.
Luna immediately stood up.
“Mei, you misunderstood.”
But her voice was no longer calm.
Everyone noticed.
I slowly opened my bag.
I had been waiting for this moment.
I took out a folder.
Placed it on the table.
The sound was small.
But everyone heard it.
“What is that?” Martin asked.
I looked at him.
“The truth.”
He opened the folder.
The first page was the hospital report.
His eyes moved across the words.
Then stopped.
His face slowly changed.
“No…”
Luna rushed forward.
“Martin, listen to me.”
But he didn’t move.
The second page.
The third page.
The medical records.
The diagnosis.
The consultation notes.
Everything.
All the evidence.
I looked at Luna.
“You remember this day, don’t you?”
Her face turned pale.

“You held my hand and cried.”
“I stayed with you for hours.”
“I told you I would find the best doctor.”
My voice remained calm.
“But I never imagined I would need those same documents to expose you.”
The relatives began whispering.
Martin looked at Luna.
“Is this true?”
She shook her head.
“No.”
But her voice was weak.
“It’s not what you think.”
That sentence.
Again.
The same sentence everyone used when they had no explanation.
I smiled slightly.
“Then explain.”
Nobody spoke.
Luna looked around.
She realized something.
For years, she had survived by making herself look fragile.
But today, nobody was protecting her.
Not me.
Not Martin.
Not the family.
Because the one person who always believed her was finally seeing the truth.
Martin grabbed the report.
His hands trembled.
“You knew?”
He looked at Luna.
“You knew you couldn’t have children?”
Tears appeared in her eyes.
“I was scared.”
“Scared?”
His voice became louder.
“You let me announce this to my entire family.”
“You let my parents celebrate.”
“You let me divorce my wife.”
Luna started crying.
And for a moment, everyone almost felt sorry for her.
Almost.
Until Mei spoke again.
“Brother…”
She looked at Martin.
“There is something else.”
Everyone turned.
“What else?”
Mei hesitated.
Then she took out her phone.
“I found this yesterday.”
She showed the screen.
A message history.
Between Luna and someone else.
Martin’s face changed.
Because the messages were dated three years ago.
Before Luna suddenly became pregnant.
Before she claimed it was impossible.
Before the divorce.
I looked at Martin.
“You thought I came here to destroy your wedding.”
I paused.
“But I came here because I wanted you to see the person you chose over me.”
The courtyard was completely silent.
Martin stared at the phone.
Then at Luna.
Then at me.
And for the first time since our marriage ended…
He looked like the person who had been betrayed.
Not me.
But the final message on Luna’s phone revealed something even more shocking.
A message sent only two weeks before the wedding.
One sentence.
“I finally got rid of Sofía. Now we can take everything that belongs to the Zhou family.”
Martin read it.
His face turned completely white.
Because he finally understood.
Luna never wanted him because she loved him.
She wanted the life she thought he could give her.
And now…
Everyone in the family knew.
But before Martin could say anything, Luna suddenly looked at me.
The tears disappeared.
The fear disappeared.
And a strange smile appeared.
“Sofía…”
“You think you won?”
I frowned.
She stepped closer.
“Did you really think those medical records were the biggest secret?”
My heart stopped.
Because she whispered something only I could hear.
“The reason I could never have children…”
She smiled.
“Is because your father’s hospital made a mistake twenty years ago.”
I froze.
“What?”
She looked at me.
“And if you want to know why your family has been hiding the truth all these years…”
She leaned closer.
“Ask your mother’s old medical records.”
For the first time that day…
I felt afraid.
Because this was no longer about Martin.
No longer about Luna.
It was about a secret my own family had buried for decades.
