Part 2: The Return of Wen Qing

Three days after leaving Lu Mansion, the entire business world began to feel something unusual.

At first, nobody paid attention.

After all, a divorce between Lu Chengyuan and Wen Qing was only considered a private family matter.

A powerful man.

A successful wife.

A marriage that had lasted ten years.

People assumed it was nothing more than a temporary conflict.

They waited for the same ending as always.

They expected Wen Qing to return.

They expected Lu Chengyuan to accept her back.

Because in everyone’s eyes, Wen Qing had always been the one who needed him.

But they were wrong.

On the fourth morning, the first shock appeared.

Several international partners of Lu Group suddenly announced that they were reviewing their cooperation agreements.

On the fifth day, three major investment projects were temporarily suspended.

On the sixth day, the financial department discovered something even more terrifying.

The core resources that had supported Lu Group’s rapid expansion over the past decade were disappearing one by one.

Not because someone attacked them.

But because someone had quietly withdrawn them.

Lu Chengyuan stood in front of the huge office window, looking down at the city.

His expression was cold.

“Find out who is behind this.”

Assistant Wang lowered his head.

“President, we have investigated.”

“And?”

He hesitated.

“Most of the changes are related to companies that have cooperated with us for years.”

Lu Chengyuan frowned.

“That is impossible.”

Those companies had always respected him.

They had always chosen Lu Group over others.

Why would they suddenly change their attitude?

Assistant Wang swallowed.

“There is one more thing.”

“What?”

“The person communicating with them…”

He paused.

“Is not Wen Qing.”

Lu Chengyuan’s eyes narrowed.

“Then who?”

Assistant Wang placed a document on the table.

“The representatives only mentioned one name.”

Lu Chengyuan looked down.

A familiar but forgotten name appeared.

Su Corporation.

His expression changed instantly.

Impossible.

The Su family had always remained hidden from public attention.

They were not like Lu Group, constantly appearing in the media.

They were older.

More powerful.

And far more mysterious.

Lu Chengyuan suddenly remembered something.

Ten years ago, when he first met Wen Qing, she had never seemed like an ordinary woman.

She understood business better than anyone.

She could predict market changes before they happened.

She could convince investors who refused to meet him.

Back then, he thought it was because she was talented.

He thought her success was because she had him beside her.

But now…

A terrible possibility slowly emerged in his mind.

Maybe he had misunderstood everything.

Meanwhile, I was sitting inside the Su family headquarters.

The place I had not entered for ten years.

The moment I walked through the doors, everyone stood up.

Not because I was Wen Qing.

But because they knew who I really was.

“Welcome back, Miss Su.”

I looked at the familiar building.

For ten years, I had hidden my identity.

I had allowed everyone to believe I was only Lu Chengyuan’s wife.

A woman standing behind a successful man.

A woman who needed his protection.

But nobody knew the truth.

Before becoming Mrs. Lu, I was Su Wenqing.

The only daughter of the Su family.

The successor who disappeared from the public eye after choosing love over power.

My father had been furious at first.

He had warned me.

“That man loves the version of you that helps him succeed.”

I didn’t believe him.

I thought love could change everything.

I thought if I gave enough, sacrificed enough, and supported him enough…

One day he would understand.

But my father was right.

The moment Lu Chengyuan believed he no longer needed me, he revealed the truth.

Not through words.

Through actions.

At the Lu Group anniversary celebration, he did not hesitate to destroy my dignity in front of everyone.

So now…

I was simply taking back what I had given away.

“Miss.”

Uncle Qin placed several documents in front of me.

“The first phase is complete.”

I opened them.

Every company connected to Lu Group through hidden partnerships had been identified.

Every project.

Every contract.

Every investment.

All the things I had quietly created for Lu Chengyuan over ten years were now visible.

“Good.”

I signed the final document.

“Continue.”

Uncle Qin hesitated.

“Miss, once we proceed, Lu Group will suffer serious consequences.”

I looked at him calmly.

“I know.”

“Are you certain?”

I closed the folder.

“Ten years ago, I built an empire with him.”

A pause.

“Today, I will prove that I can build one without him.”

That evening, Lu Chengyuan finally called.

I looked at his name flashing on the screen.

For ten years, I had waited for this man to call me.

But now…

I felt nothing.

I answered.

“Hello.”

There was silence on the other side.

Then his voice came.

“Where are you?”

I smiled faintly.

“Does it matter?”

His breathing became heavier.

“Wen Qing, what are you doing?”

“What do you mean?”

“Those companies.”

His voice lowered.

“You know exactly what I’m talking about.”

I leaned back in my chair.

“Lu Chengyuan.”

“Yes?”

“Do you remember what you said to me when you received the divorce agreement?”

He became silent.

“You said I could not survive without you.”

A pause.

“Do you still believe that?”

His voice changed.

For the first time, there was uncertainty.

“Wen Qing…”

I interrupted him.

“You spent ten years believing Lu Group existed because of you.”

“I spent ten years allowing you to believe that.”

The silence became heavier.

Then he asked:

“Who are you?”

I looked at the city lights outside the window.

The same city where everyone once called me Mrs. Lu.

Now they would learn another name.

“Someone you should have never underestimated.”

I ended the call.

At that moment, another piece of news appeared online.

The headline shocked the entire business world.

Su Corporation announces the return of its mysterious successor after ten years of absence.

Below the headline was my photo.

Not the photo of Lu Chengyuan’s wife.

Not the woman standing behind him.

But Su Wenqing.

The woman who had been hidden for ten years.

The woman who had built his empire.

The woman who was now coming back to reclaim her own.

And when Lu Chengyuan saw that headline…

For the first time in his life…

He realized the woman he had abandoned was not the one who lost everything.

He was.
