I looked at the documents.

“Was just a business plan.”

Silence filled the room.

For years, everyone had told me the same thing.

Gabriel had never forgotten Clara.

He looked at me.

Those words surprised me.

“Why?”

He paused.

I didn’t answer.

Taken care of me.

He had treated me like a valuable partner.

“I should have trusted you.”

His voice was low.

“I should have told you everything.”

I looked away.

“Yes.”

One word.

I contacted my own team.

When Gabriel entered the room, Clara smiled.

Almost relieved.

“I knew you would come.”

Gabriel looked at her coldly.

“You betrayed the company.”

She laughed.

“No.”

She looked at me.

“She betrayed you.”

I frowned.

“What?”

Clara stepped closer.

“You really think Gabriel married you because he chose you?”

Silence.

“Your marriage was only a contract.”

“I know.”

My answer surprised her.

She smiled.

“Then you know you were never loved.”

Before I could respond, Gabriel spoke.

“Enough.”

Clara looked at him.

“You still protect her?”

“Yes.”

“After everything?”

“Yes.”

Her expression finally changed.

Because she realized something.

The man she thought she understood…

was no longer the same man.

Clara took a step back.

“You changed because of her.”

Gabriel didn’t deny it.

“Yes.”

The room became silent.

Then Clara laughed bitterly.

“You never said that to me.”

Gabriel looked at her.

“Because I didn’t know it before.”

Those words ended everything.

Not because they were cruel.

Because they were true.

The police arrived minutes later.

The evidence was enough.

Financial fraud.

Corporate sabotage.

Illegal information trading.

Clara’s perfect return to Madrid ended with handcuffs.

But the biggest surprise came afterward.

When the investigation revealed the person who had helped her.

A senior executive inside Valcárcel Group.

Someone Gabriel had trusted for ten years.

The entire scandal was finally exposed.

And the company survived.

But after everything ended, there was one thing left.

Us.

One night, Gabriel found me in the garden.

“I have something for you.”

He handed me a small box.

I opened it.

Inside was a ring.

“I know.”

He stopped me.

He looked directly into my eyes.

My fingers tightened around the ring.

His voice became softer.

“I want a real marriage.”

I looked at him.

“Do you love me?”

The question came quietly.

Gabriel didn’t answer immediately.

Because this time, he didn’t want to say something easy.

“I don’t know when it happened.”

He smiled slightly.

“I fell in love with you.”

I accepted the ring.

But I made one condition.

“One more contract.”

Gabriel raised an eyebrow.

“What contract?”

I smiled.
